Sinn Fein are not a Normal Political Party

You have to start somewhere, everybody does even if you have a degree in your back pocket, you do not start at the top.

You work hard, get experience, learn skills, study at night, move on to a new role with greater responsibility and salary.

I know plenty who have done so and right now it is an employee's jobs market.

One thing for sure is that this or any Government will not fulfil your dreams unless you make an effort yourself and fortunately, we have a decent social welfare system which should protect those who cannot get on in life for various reasons or simple bad luck and housing all our people and giving them a decent quality of life should be our aim.
We need to stop focusing so much on third level education as a means of improving yourself. Trades will provide you with a good living but it's expensive to take on apprentices I believe.
If you come from a council estate and had a basic education it's about the best option available to you if you are lucky enough to be offered one. From there you can offer your family the opportunities you yourself didn't have, education wise.

When was there ever a "Level playing pitch" in the rental market?

Sound_y?

Stacey is that your excuse for not doing the right thing - a shur we've always done it this way?

Do you think it right that the mega-landlords get tax breaks while individual house landlords get none?

Stacey?

AMEN!

There are so many people with third level educations that aren't even working in the field of their qualification. We as a country need houses. Good carpenters, electricians, plumbers, masons etc are in short supply.

Try get a builder at the moment and see how much it costs. And these lads, hungry for work, can pull down rather large salaries compared to people who have third level degrees.

We need more vocations for the priesthood aswell imho.

How many new rental properties (ballpark figure) would be delivered by giving individual landlords tax breaks who are leaving the market for a variety of reasons not simply tax anyway?

How many landlords would continue to rent property if evictions were simply "banned" by Sinn Fein?

This is very important that we start respecting trades and train people via apprenticeship's but kids are being convinced to go to 3rd level by peer pressure while we have to import skills like construction

Plumbing and electrical are two trades where id say a fella if he provides a good professional service cant go wrong,
In the 1980s many school leavers either did an apprenticeship or just got a job, but in recent decades the vast majority go on to 3rd level,

Soundy, infairness your shower demonised all " land lords "

Threats such as if you sell the house the tenants can stay there, so the new house owner has tenants whether or not he/ she wants them.

Too many tenant rights also, no wonder people are getting out of it and it is your SF/IRA policies that has people terrified.

But of course your crowd excell at terrorising

SF/IRA = Scum

Trades are now making very good money as you cannot get them at the moment and as a society they need to be valued and promoted as a career option.
