Public Transport Spreads Disease

Thanks Stalky, perhaps you are not all bad, albeit creepy. I offered no solution to the fact that Public Transport Spreads Disease.
But simple logic says banking on it solely in a future of Pandemics is Palookaville. Clearly we need to rethink. Many Cities particularly in the Old EU countries, seem to have everything one needs within walking distance of City Centre Residences. Here, with the rain...... How about hop on/off buses/trams sheltered from the rain but open to the air. Free, to get rid of the delaying of all traffic at every stop.

Ireland will be getting less rain in the future.

Indoor/outdoor buses and trams sheltered from the rain for wet weather in Europe?

Bergen is Europe's wettest city with a population of 270,000+ people.

Just how do they manage?

You want 80+ people in a bus or tram getting delayed by a single occupant car?

Have you any other ideas?

Ah Stalky Stalky Stalky....... such efforts to introduce Other Topics.

You want 80+ people in a bus or tram getting delayed by a single occupant car?

Or a single occupant of that bus getting off. Or getting on, searching for change......... Or a single cyclist slowing down hundreds of people in buses and cars on one of our narrow main roads.

But The Topic Remains...... Public Transport Spreads Disease. There are thousands of people sick at the moment.

Buses will be free soon so what are you going to do?

Stalky.......Buses will be free soon so what are you going to do? That is good, it should speed things up a lot. I take the Douglas bus in to town now and then. I wear a mask but there are rarely more than a handful of people on board anyway.

Try getting the 206 or 207 bus at peak work/college/schools hours. Anyway the days of auld fellahs like you choking up the city with traffic and leaving your lump of metal on the street all day are over and that is all that matters really.

The 207 rarely shows up on time. One of the least reliable bus services in the city
