pj coogan show

Missed todays broadcast.

Can anyone summarise in bullet points?
First half hour

1) some woman on complaining that their daughter missed lot of transition year in 2020 so should not now have to sit exams for leaving cert this year

2) Some one from some makey-uppy parents and staff support group moaning that they really want schools to stay open but then moaned about dangers of going to school and wanted them closed. Also moaned about doing actual leaving cert. They did a 300 page report but NPHET ignored it.

Riveting radio it most certainly was not!!!

Peej came up with his usual guff when ever leaving cert is mentioned that "it's not only student doing the leaving cert, the whole family sits it too"!!

Peej squeezing leaving cert story to within inch of its life.3 days in a row.

All students this year have faced the same challenge and pressures so in that respect a written exam is very fair.

The leaving cert is always a pressurised year anyway (and yes Peej, for the rest of the family too :lol!:) but the written exam is scrupulously fair and leaves no room for the old Irish tricks of canvassing, nod and a wink, who do you know or putting pressure on teaching staff to give little Sorcha or Cillian (who may be dumb as toast) a significantly upgraded mark.

The issue for this year's students is they'll be competing for 3rd level places with last year's cohort who had significantly upgraded scores because of the hybrid system.
There should be a system in place to allow this year's cohort to receive a 10% uplift in points (or whatever the figure is) to equate them with points received by students in last two years when points were significantly higher than for years up to 2019.

People texting in to say that these students will be voters in a few years and they'll get their revenge on the government

Nah sure I thought Ireland was no place to be for young people and they're all fucking off to Australia and Canada?

PJ talking about drink now. Only another 3 minutes til he can knock off and head down to Gallaghers for a rake of pints.

Keep an eye out for Paudie Dineen lurking behind a newspaper in the corner

The current leaving cert students if they stick around will almost certainly vote anybody but FF/FG, They will vote for those
who promise plentiful supply of cheap housing, climate action, etc
