If he can get a winning culture into the team I couldn't give a fuck what type of person he is. Question is will he be solely with Under 21's or will he still be on the club coaching gravy train

Someone from Inniscarra would be best to ask for that question I'd imagine, I presume if he's staying coaching on the club scene it will be with them seeing as he brought them on so much this year. If they continue that progress over the next couple of years they should be close to winning the county, especially with the underage teams they have coming through.

Hard to see how he'd have the time to do a club team outside of the demands of a county set up. U21 is possibly the grade that would allow for it though.

I doubt it will be anywhere the team which will be picked.

3 of back line not mobile/agile enough
5 of 6 forwards physically too small/not aggressive enough

Don't know either midfielder to comment.

Dooling Glen
Gunning Na P
O'Callaghan Rockies would be certainties in my eyes, injury & form allowing

Hennessy from Barrs very worthy of serious consideration, though still maybe a bit too light.

The key os getting the balance right & as at senior level too many of same type lovely ball playing finishers on the team. If they're all finishers....who actually does the work?

The trouble is they are finishers of easy points rather than cutting in and going for gial.cork have too many of same type of forwards.saw cork u 16 dev squad 4 years ago all small light hurlers

You're right. Problem we all have is that we see the ball being put over the bar & neglect to see who facilitated the tackle, the track back, the interception, the delivery that made the lovely finish possible.

We've too many players who will opt for the soft option (& nothing wrong with that when the occasion arises), but when the time comes to drop the shoulder, take the belt & go past the defender within 20/25m of goal who have we got? Why are Cork continually getting 20/22/24 points but no goals?

Add the Echo sportswriters then eulogise over their pets then we get a disjointed & unbalanced view. Win a loose ball, sprint 20 yards to the sideline & have a shot. How many times have we seen Cork forwards take on the defender & go inside recently?

100% right on all counts particularly when reporters have a horn for certain players they over hype their actual performance so those of us at home get a distorted perception of a players ability

Meyler is a great appointment. He's respected, and that's key. The lads in the panel will hear nothing but respect for the man. That'll make them train and work with confidence - something we've been lacking of late. Remove Frank (who some, true or not, see as all that's wrong with Cork hurling) from the dugout, and the confidence grows even further. Perhaps we could be Cork again?

Would love to see Chris O'Leary at full forward. I'm stunned he's not been involved in senior set up yet. Think he has huge ability...
