Oasis 1996

I was at that gig in Dublin in 1997, Noel was brilliant that night,I have a soundboard copy of the gig that's in my collection , his acoustic set that night was fantastic.

there was an over night queue for tickets for those two nights in Douglas months or so before the gig. A local scumbag went down and knocked a fellas eye out with a chain for no reason during the middle of the night. The same fella slashed a mate of mines face when we were camping one year. the scut is in Oz now, living the high life:rolleyes:

Showing some degree of personality or showmanship should be a given for a live act.
Leonard Cohen being a prime example of how to do it right. I'm not asking for setting fire to guitars but some bit of life is necessary.

When I buy a ticket, all I expect is that they give a decent performance of their songs. Anything else is up to them.

I was at Leonard Cohen last week and I wouldn't exactly be holding him up as a great showman. His only move that I could see, was getting down on his knees. His performance of the songs was great though, thats all I was interested in.

Liam's swagger does absolutely nothing for me, but i agree that once the performance of the songs is at a level that you would expect and hope for, then that's the main thing. I actually prefer little or no chatter and more songs thanks very much. I remember seeing Frank Black and his band years back and they just played right through the set without any pause. It was brilliant.
