Natural History Museum collapses

Not quite, but it doesn't sound great

Emergency crews at Natural History Museum

Emergency services are attending a serious incident at the Natural History Museum on Merrion Square in Dublin after a staircase in the building collapsed.

Four people have so far been taken to hospital, but there is no indication yet of how many people have been injured.

Ten ambulances are at the scene as well as several units of the Dublin Fire Brigade.

AdvertisementThe incident happened at 11.30pm this morning.

Traffic restrictions are in place on Merrion Square and on the city routes to St Vincent's Hospital and St James's Hospital to facilitate emergency services.

Apparently, it's a staircase that wouldn't be in normal use by the public, and was being used as part of a staff training exercise.

So, it'll probably turn out to have been a rickety old fire-escape or some such. That was blown up by Creationist pipe-bombs.
