I see there is mention of a complex family background.
It is actually very eye opening the amount of people going around causing damage (physical/psychological/emotional) to others and themselves due to family trauma when on the surface there is no immediate evidence of it.
What is even more thought provoking are the percentage of them who wouldn't come from what people would class as a traumatic upbringing or unstable background.

A lot of criticism about the decision to give an all star award to Kyle Hayes .
If his crimes were of a sexual assault would he recieve the award.

Should never have been given one.

Disgraceful that he was nominated for hurler of the year.

His victim got no kind of justice in court and it must have been galling to see that violent thug publicly celebrated by his peers.

Just typical of what you'd expect from the GAA. Imagine the reaction if Denis Wise had been up for player of the year or put in team of the season after he hockeyed that cab driver? Braindead from those who nominated and voted for Hayes

If he's a player then he's automatically qualified like any other player to be nominated and judged on by his peers for how he performs on the field.
