Kyle Hayes - a good GAA man?

Unpopular opinion. There has been a witch-hunt on Kyle Hayes. Yes he broke the law and should be dealt with accordingly but some of the reaction has been well over the top. He was one of the 15 best hurlers in 2024 and his All Star reflects that.

In my opinon the witch hunt on him is all of his own doing.

Firstly what he did was thuggery. Ok, we all make mistakes but Hayes had no remorse.
He dragged this whole thing through the courts despite the evidence against him being fairly overwhelming and was found guilty.
He should have put his hand up, owned what he did, apologised and took his punishment. People would be far more sympathetic then.

He gets away lightly then (in my opinion) and instead of keeping his head down for any length of time he goes away and gets done for serious speeding on one of the most dangerous roads in the country.

He comes across as a completely entitled wanker and that's why people don't like him.

He should never have been given an All Star, no matter his performances. His behaviour has brought the association into disrepute. I know the personal lives of players are none of the GAAs business but for christ sake it would have been easy omit him this year and no one would have batted eyelid. Instead we have the same old brigade saying "Hayes gets special treatment because hes a GAA player, typical GAA" ....... and on this occasion its hard to argue with them. Like where is the common sense.

A few VIP Ryder Cup tickets always get things sorted.
In fairness
