I heard a report on that speeding case today, his solicitor mentioned they are going to appeal it.

I believe he said that they may appeal it.

He can't appeal the case itself (because he pled guilty) only the severity. I can't see the circuit court giving him less than 2 years tbh.

He may just want to delay it going back before the CC on the suspended sentence.

It's hard to know. If it was another assault he would definitely be facing jail, but the fact that it's a different offence might save him.

There is a lot of anti suspended sentence sentiment at present, which will go against him. And he could be jailed now without impacting Limerick's championship season

If I were acting for him, I'd tell him to pack a bag and bring it with him!
