Junior A Hurling Championship 2024

I’m nervous enough about Ballincollig on Sunday, have improved massively this season compared to where they’re normally at in terms of Junior A, whilst Ballinora have been patchy.

Ballinora definitely need to up the ante a bit, but they’re well capable of doing that at the same time and on their day can be a handful for anyone at this grade. The last few mid Cork finals have been scrappy battles in poor weather so just hoping the lads get out of there with a win.

There's no easy division won this year, the county will be a tough one to call
Tracton were probably peoples favourites after the league campaign but at the moment you'd say that Harbour Rovers are probably the favourites but hard to get back to a County Final again in this grade.

Bizarre decision by North cork board to appoint a shanballymore man to referee the North cork final. As Glanworth and shanballymore are St Dominics the juvenile side of Harbour rovers. While Harbour were marginal favourites for this they are now odds on in many eyes.
Twomey is a good referee but this a bad choice for him

I'd imagine there's no love lost between shanbally and Glanworth so i dont see a big issue with it.
Referees have enough to deal with without an agenda against them before a ball is thrown in.

100 % disagree He should not have taken this game. He could be totally right on a decision but it will be thrown against him.
Look they are the one club full stop at under age and the big calls in a game will be very interesting He should not have been put that position

I wouldn't be one to question the man's integrity anyway. Each to their own I'd suppose. Shur it's the same for every referee in any game.

Couldn’t agree more. Will be a hellacious battle. If it’s a dry day, Ballinora are slight favourites for me. They’ve huge speed around the middle with the two burns and Kingston is a mighty man.

Still think Holmes is a huge loss. Heard that he might be back for the game. Is there any truth to this ?

Wouldn't be too sure at all about this grade, only because I enjoy keeping an eye on all grades in both codes but would Ballinora be favourites to win the county considering how often they've been out to the county series etc or am I wrong? Harbour Rovers too I suppose

If they are serious about a county they should be getting over Ballincollig. Possibly rely on Shane Kingston too much though.
With the county running well into November whoever can handle the conditions best might be the best bet. My money would be on Tracton, they are big and physical and have Kieran Kingston in charge.

I hadn’t heard myself but would be surprised if he was involved.

As for the county, Tracton probably favourites, but I think there’s several teams who are well able for them if they play to their potential.
