I'm slightly surprised that not too many are picking up on how canham stated that the new manager would be announced in early April. not "hopefully" or "the expectation is to", rather an outright guarantee.

I think it's that most people don't pay too much attention because the inner machinations of the FAI are fairly boring. they get away with quite a lot out of it.

Thats a very optimistic statement! This is the latest date the FAI have given us, no explanation, no anything, just that they will be longer and SheasY gets another few games in the meantime. If you were being cynical you might suggest that they have become aware of their own sheer incompetence, and at that stage Johno will have 4 or 5 games under his belt, so he might as well carry on as the easy option.. he just needs a win or two.

Who knows.. maybe Carsley or Roy or Gus, or OGS, or Barry, or Di Matteo, or Lennon, or anyone else they dropped their knickers for will have a sudden realisation that it's actually an amazing opportunity and people just haven't realised it yet.

On the flip side, they have saved about 6 months of the managers salary so if they spread that across the term they can offer an extra 5% per year.. that'll do it

No one wants the gig as the money isnt great in relative terms.

No Redacted footing half the wages for a name manager so we're back to novices or journeymen.

So go and fish in the right pond then! We have half a mill a year and a team with very limited opportunities to progress significantly. There’s a group out there that will take that job whoever they are, no point chasing fellas who don’t want the job!

I was thinking the same thing, "you know that thing I was suppose to have ready and submitted for April, we'll it won't be ready now until September"
