Interesting price difference for exhaust repair in Cork

Broken exhaust for an Opel Astra Estate needed replacing:

Priced in Advanced, Patrick's Quay
90 (top half) + 120 (bottom half) = 210euro
(very busy - mightn't be able to do it for at least 24 hours)

Tried Kirwans in Ballyvolane (near Fox and Hounds):
Same thing 65 + 80 euro = 145 euro. Saving 65 euro.

I later found out from a friend that lots of welders will fix car exhausts if the crack or break is on the pipe and not too close to the box. He got his done (Toyota starlet) for 30 euro. Save 115 euro!

firstly advanced will use official Opel parts, secondly the weld may cause you to fail the NCT depending on where it is.
