Immigration Thread

It's actually frightening that they're bringing 1000s of people in here to sleep outside pennies, guineys or wherever else these poor people can lay their heads down for the night.

There'll be absolutely no social consequences for this madness either.

Now, about the bridge I was telling ya about.....

You'd hope with the Greens gone there might be some measure of sanity restored but I'm not holding my breath.

I didn't want to go into it in the thread about the child killed in Wexford as no point in dragging that off topic.

Just on the reporting of the nationality etc. of an offender. It seems that there are 2 general linked points on why it should be reported:

  1. We have a lot of immigration so we need to know who is committing crime, grand, as someone mentioned the media don't report on anything to do with the identity of the offender for 24 hours, why is it such a big issue now? We have discussed that the gardai should record nationality and I agree with that. Just going by media reports on crime can create a false narrative as you will naturally concentrate on what your bias is.......pay more attention to immigrants committing crime because your perception is that they do. So again Gardai tracking this is the best way to provide proper stats, and although I am curious at times I don't see the issue in not reporting it or being a bit vague. As an aside the left have been calling for Gardai to track the nationality of criminals for a few years but their tack is to highlight any racial profiling happening.
  2. By not reporting it it creates a vacuum. Well who tries to exploit this and push their agenda? The far right (admittedly small but vocal)...........but they don't exist so how is this creating a vacuum in the first place??
As discussed before proper stats through Gardai reporting is the way out of this.

Entitled much ???

They should all be rounded up and flown back home.
The cheek of them, considering they have not contributed much to our society but feel so entitled.
I doubt anyone one here asked them to come.
So if we take in asylum seekers you believe that we have no obligations towards them while we process their claims?

Not even a right to basic shelter?
