Sunak says fact people are heading to ireland means the Rwanda plan is working,
Well if Sunak is happy for them to come here then we should be happy to contain them in NI by any means necessary.

"Ireland plans to return asylum seekers to the UK under new emergency laws, in an effort to stem arrivals through Northern Ireland.

The taoiseach, Simon Harris, wants the proposals brought to cabinet next week amid concern that Rishi Sunak’s Rwanda plan was rerouting asylum seekers from the UK.

Harris has asked the justice minister, Helen McEntee, to bring proposals to cabinet next week to allow the return of inadmissible international protection applicants to the UK."

I wouldn't have much faith in this happening if it's depending on McEntee acting in a decisive and proactive manner.

This is the minister who said just last week that "funding and finance" would be made available to increase prison spaces. She doesn't come across as being the brightest tbphwy.

It's an early test of Harris's leadership anyway. Let's see how he manages this crisis.

When the dail vote on the EU immigration pact it will be interesting to see if independents back the government. We have an opt out clause and should enforce this.
Should this go to a referendum full stop and let the Irish people have their say?

Jesus. Given Ireland's utter inability to deport anyone from this country even those that other EU countries agree to take ,Rishi is laughing his head off as the utter dregs of the world get dumped over the NI. border.
