Halloween

I lived in a rented house in Gillabey Street, near St. Finbarr's cathedral, in the early 90's. The weekend before Halloween there was a bunch of kids called to the house. Of course I had nothing sorted yet, I told them to call back on Halloween night. Leaving the house the next morning the front door had egg running down it.

This year there were only 2 knocks on the door, the mature area I live in has only one house with youngsters. I'd say the weather kept many away too. The 2nd knock was unexpected, a young Spanish woman with a small baby dressed as a vampire. She had just moved into the area and was just calling to introduce herself, using Halloween as an excuse. I don't know if this is a Spanish thing or not. She was very pleasant.

Halloween isn't particularly Spanish. Nor is calling to a total stranger's house unless it's in the same apartment block.
How pleasant was she??

She didn't stop talking to take a breath and had a voice that could perform a surgical incision. Grand otherwise..........She thought Halloween was a huge Irish thing and was expecting crowds on the street. I told her we had changed and moved on or back. One or the other.
