Getting sick..
Lol!
Lol!
?I lived in a rented house in Gillabey Street, near St. Finbarr's cathedral, in the early 90's. The weekend before Halloween there was a bunch of kids called to the house. Of course I had nothing sorted yet, I told them to call back on Halloween night. Leaving the house the next morning the front door had egg running down it.
This year there were only 2 knocks on the door, the mature area I live in has only one house with youngsters. I'd say the weather kept many away too. The 2nd knock was unexpected, a young Spanish woman with a small baby dressed as a vampire. She had just moved into the area and was just calling to introduce herself, using Halloween as an excuse. I don't know if this is a Spanish thing or not. She was very pleasant.
She didn't stop talking to take a breath and had a voice that could perform a surgical incision. Grand otherwise..........She thought Halloween was a huge Irish thing and was expecting crowds on the street. I told her we had changed and moved on or back. One or the other.?
Halloween isn't particularly Spanish. Nor is calling to a total stranger's house unless it's in the same apartment block.
How pleasant was she??
Residents reported that some of the youths were drinking, smoking, setting off fireworks, getting sick, breaking glass, and throwing items in the area.
What did they expect.... They're children!!!!
