Halloween

What does Halloween mean to you lads?

From what I can gather, it serves two purposes -

A chance for the smallies to get dressed up and go trick or treating

A chance for adults to dress up like idiots and get drunk

And that's about it. Unless I'm missing something?

Someone was asked they stood on Halloween being an excuse for ones in their 20’s and 30’s to get dressed up in revealing costumes …

“Erect” was the answer…..

Just an another excuse to outdo the neighbours with decorations and whose kids costumes are best,

Not wrong there.

Although I've noticed a few houses with modest decorations on the front, and I think that's nice. We have a tiny pumpkin which cost around €2, and we'll throw an auld night light into it tomorrow.

I like Halloween as it kind of marks the start of winter/Christmas, but I don't get the appeal in dressing up and going out, as an adult.

Acknowledging the beginning of winter and remembering the dead.

I love Halloween, both the traditional stuff, the religious stuff around all souls day and the newfangled house decorations an all that. Our house is decorated, but only with stuff the kids made.

I also love dressing up. I'm dressing as mama Imelda from Coco this year.

Lots planned for tomorrow - halloween games for the kids, trick or treating with them and then into town for the dragon of Shandon.
