You do know that the nature/type of the crime isn't always the deciding factor in giving bail? If the court consider him a danger to himself or others or a flight risk, tampering with witnesses then he won't get bail.

Yeah but this guy's crime were on the lower end of the scale. It was more entertainment than anything.
There was never anyone in real danger.
You always hear about some scumbag murderer getting bail if he "signs on once a day at the police station and hands over his passport"

Only thing I can think of is his solicitor declined bail so his client can get free mental care in jail (he'd be waiting a lot longer on the outside)

He damaged two cars, injured two people and rammed a Garda car off the road.
His solicitor didn't decline bail, the Gardai objected to it and the Judge agreed on the basis he has a psychiatric evaluation asap.
