GAAGO - Rebel Strike (again)

Listened to RTE sport today 2 days out from the 1st semi final and no mention of it, they had rugby, soccer, tennis and golf and also no mention that H Shefflin stepping down.

Highlighted the key parts for you⬆️
And did you see where it all was allocated underneath what you highlighted or you unable to read a full article?
I seem to have missed the secret lodgement to the Cayman Islands.
Where exactly do you have problems with the way the funds were allocated.
Maybe you should take a more active role in GAA administration if you have a better idea of how the funds should be allocated?

I was referring to when you said you'd like to see a channel for GAA members only, which is patently ridiculous.
I suggested a discount for GAA members but I also said I thought it wasnt feasible and I gave what I thought was the only feasible solution.
Currently we have a situation where people who contribute to an amateur organisation are excluded from watching the games by a paywall. That is not sustainable practice going forward in my opinion.

An expression of interest at the behest of the competition authority, allowing less than a week to respond in mid August...

If I were one of the bidders, I'd put in an expression for a hurling only deal and make a major fuss about how it would be promoted. Let the GAA come up with a reason why it should be refused.

Whatever happens with it, there needs to be oversight and some sort of principle put in place about how many games involving certain teams and certain competitions end up behind a paywall.

The packages are set for expression of interest, so hurling only is not on the table from them

"Packages ‘five’ and ‘six’ are understood to be back on the table. Package ‘five’ includes two All-Ireland football quarter-finals fixed for Saturday evenings, one Munster hurling championship game and a further three championship games in the Sam Maguire and Liam MacCarthy Cups.

Package ‘six’ has an eight-game offering, incorporating provincial and Sam Maguire/Liam MacCarthy Cup games to be broadcast on Saturday evenings."

Do RTE have to pay for the other 4 packages, or get them for free?
