GAAGO - Rebel Strike (again)

I don't agree with paywalls.
The same people who were OK with games behind a Sky paywall because they were already subscribers have their knickers in a twist because now they have to pay.
It's hypocrisy.
The issue people have, is with being ripped-off.
And the reason we are known as rip-off republic, is because most people have your attitude about being ripped-off.
I.e. Lets attack those that speak-up about being ripped-off.

I am against paywalls. It's the very point I've made from my first post on this thread.
However others are cool with paywalls it appears so long as they are on the right side of them.

Well they were your calculations, I knew they weren't likely to be accurate.

You seem to finally be able to find their accounts which are public so now you know where the money goes pal.
You're welcome.
Ya. As i said literally in my prior post, it doesn't go back to the clubs.
So you ask everyone on a public internet forum where the money goes, and then suddenly change your tune to "the accounts are online for everyone to see, idiot".
You haven't a clue.
I don't, and never have claimed to know the finer workings of the GAA central finances. But what i do know as fact, from serving as club treasurer, is that they give very, very little back to clubs.

Yes. People are generally OK with not being ripped-off.
Again, as has been stated to you around a million times. The issue isn't Sky. Nobody is making an issue with Sky on this thread, only you.
The issue is being ripped-off, by GAA-GO.
The clue is in the thread title.

Is it more important that revenue is generated (often from club members) to send money to the clubs or that the games be broadcast as widely as possible? The cost of broadcasting a match can be quite low - witness, for example, TG4's YouTube coverage.

gaago is repaying the broadcasting rights that rte already paid for broadcasting gaa.

rte pay gaa for broadcasting right.

gaa do a dual agreement with rte and sky.

sky renege on a a renewal.

gaa lost broadcasting money from sky so matches that would have pre-sky been free to air, be it on an rte channel or the news streaming channel. now they’re being put behind a paywall which was never done or set in stone from the first place.

how this is slipping beyond posters is unbelievable!

up until the dagda’s budget everything was paying for itself because volunteers were still going to do the work and also have free access too gaa content. all of a sudden there’s a dozen camera operators and a studio to pay for in croke park.

the gaa is the sporting version of the catholic church. a load of indoctrinated dopes spouting on about culture and gaelicism and whatever else while letting johnny ryan and mary murphy make the sandwiches so ja can go on about pumping money back in.

gaago was a great tool for anyone outside of ireland to keep watching games at home, similar to the afl app, but they did a deal with the devil in rte and rode everyone in ireland who had an interest in gaelic games.
I think you entirely missed my dig at the whole carry on.

I was ok with it being on Sky because at least that was an add on to terrestrial tv if people wanted to buy it. GAAGO is not the same because it’s an internet based subscription service that has excluded some who are not online. I’ve no problem paying for some matches but it needs to be tv based.

I asked where you 'think' the money goes.
It's a subtle lanuage difference, the purpose of which was to highlight the tinfoil hat nature of yours and others argument.
The accounts are published quite publicly ever year and a large amount does go to the clubs and to infrastructure projects nationwide that benefit the public at large.
The point being that it all goes back into GAA.
