GAA introduces charge for children's league tickets
The GAA has announced that it will charge under 16s to attend higher-division Allianz League games for the first time next year.
There’s no doubt about that. From what I can see it’s designed to prevent teenagers going on their own especially to night matches. In an ideal world they would go in with a man like they did years ago but those days are gone. Going to matches isn’t cheap now.Its a costly day/night out when you factor in the chips and burger, my fella wont accept sandwiches wrapped in tin foil.
Justifying such a big money grab based on one incident in Wexford is some serious blue sky thinking. Why not just charge all the Wexford kids and work out from there instead?Horrendous decision. The GAA have completely lost the run of themselves.
A lot of parents get dragged to league matches by their kids and that revenue will be lost now, and even more importantly we will lose the younger generation who are the future leaders and players
The only positive personally is it makes the price of the season ticket a little more palatable
Or are they charging us the extra €6 for the under 16s too? ?
