GAA introduces charge for children's Allianz League tickets

Knowing people in background involved on matchdays in SV PUC, at both hurling championship games there was lots of activity by underage teenagers on the blackrock terrace. Terrace had to be cleared by stewards before Springsteens crowd came in. Terrace covered in vodka bottles. young teenagers collapsing and ending up in medical room, parents had to be called etc. This is 1 of the main reasons.
Get a train from east cork to Cork before 1 of these championship games and its rammed with YOUNG teenagers, consuming etc and consuming on the terraces also.

its 5 euro. But its ok to hop on a plane to England, book a hotel and pay for premier leagues games, 1 or 2 times a year i suppose.
What has this got to do with anything?

Also if people are drinking Naggins that's an issue for GAA security procedures. Nothing to do with U16s getting in free

While i totally disagree with the €5 charge it is still a lot less than what it costs to see Cork City or Munster. My other worry is that its a €5 now how soon before that increases.?

Ya I see it from both sides. A pity it didn't stay free but at same time great value compared to plenty other activities people have no bother spending money on.
Probably did well to keep it free until now in many ways, theres little that you get free nowadays

Typical melodramatic reaction to this. The reasoning is fair.

I think they could have looked at u12's going free, but a fiver is pretty much a coffee these days. I'm sure there's still scope for special access for groups, be it schools or youth groups.

It costs money to host a game. It costs even more money if you have reason to bump up security.

It won't have any impact on attendences for league games. Security costs a lot, especially AOS Security and there quality staff!
