Fontaines DC

I got to see these lads live about 3 years ago in a tiny spot here in Luxembourg. We're talking room above a bar. Cracking 50 mins gig. Great vibe. Lads, what are Sprints like? They're coming here in December again in a small place and fair ticket prices.

They are hopping all over much of Europe from June 12th so I had thought twas nailed on they'd have a Marquee gig early that month. Seems perhaps unlikely now after today's announcement.
Its odd, they have never played Cork since 1st album came out, apparently they did play CA once, supposed to play marquee a few years back but cancelled re a band member had covid.
Caught them at EP around the same time, were impressive.

I also assumed they would be at Marquee this year, as they are doing full 20 odd Euro festival circuit for whole summer, the. a few weeks in the U.S., and back around Europe, finishing with two 3Arena gigs.

I don't think they ever played CA, I think this Opera House gig the year before they released their debut album was probably their only Cork date.

Saw Sprints here in Coughlan's a few weeks ago. Twas sold out since last summer and they'd easily have filled it two or three nights in a row by now. Great gig. Go see them before they're in the bigger venues and I'm sure you won't regret it C.

Hermitage green are almost gawk inducing. Music for people that hate music.

Unfortunately, Fontaines might have got to the stage in their popularity that going forward it will be the couple of big Dublin dates and nothing beyond that.

Sprints are dead good. I should have gotten a ticket for that gig in Coughlan's but I waited too long. Missed out.

On a similar note, there's a few solid upcoming Irish bands playing Coughlan's in the near and distant future; The Drive (this weekend), Gurriers (in November).

Add Melts in Coughlan's. Have ticket for them and Gurriers.
