FAO Petrolheads

Engine management system warning light came on this evening on the way home.
Can I drive it for a few days before I get it checked, or does it require attention urgently?

i wouldnt drive it for a couple of days kid.. 1 day tops and then straight to agarage.... i wouldnt risk it .

it might be something serious or it might be a loose connection.

is it just a service interval light like on a bmw?
if so drive away.
if its a safety,ie. it cuts some of the power, and limits you, then straight to the garage.

the current jag will shut power to half, or safety mode if the ecu detects a problem, might be the same on the audi.

That sounds pretty serious.
Nah, it's not a big job. I'd sort it for ya for 50 notes. Labour 'n' all.

As was mentioned, that light could be anything. Unless you've physically noticed something other than that light, it's unlikely to be a big deal. But since it's ECU related it'll probably cost a fortune anyway. What was the last thing you did before the light came one? Put diesel in maybe or something small like that?

Stick a strip of black insulating tape over the light, and It will never bother you again. (till the engine falls out of the bonnet)
