Definitely Maybe turns 30

saw them live in Seattle in '95 on a sort of a one day festival thing run by the local radio station, headliners were porno for pyros, also on the big were the rentals, sonic youth, jawbreaker, everclear and tripping daisy

oasis were surprisingly good I have to say, really tight, though Liam walked off about 2 songs in as someone threw a paper cup or something in his direction, de big fanny, he came back after a few more songs were played

the local audience for the most part hadn't a clue who they were

Also saw them on that tour in a small club the size of Henry's on a Tuesday night or something deep in the heat of Texas with only about 250 people. They were good but that was it as they have not evolved a bit since then. All attitude and looking like an angry Beatles covers band and nothing complicated about their music but they were tight and they had their sound and they just stuck to it.

Once is enough.

They never broke America anyway.

if anything they went backwards

very good live in their day before they went mad on egos and coke.... but I'd have zero interest in seeing them now tbh
Outside their debut album there is not a whole lot really.

The arrogant attitude is diluted and you cannot blame them for cashing in for their pension as there is no money to be made on Spotify for them.

I am sure that people will have a great time and I am not going to crap all over their joy.

To be honest I only reason that went to see them in a small venue was that I hoped that they would be as good as the Stone Roses.

Yes, fully agree on that - their first two albums were excellent but then Noel and Liam stuck to that formula
and didn't really bother to grow and evolve.

The total opposite to Radiohead, a far better band IMO.

my young one is beyond excited about the upcoming gigs (assuming she even gets a ticket)

clearly I've failed miserably in my position of a step-dad of sorts

suffice to say she's been both disowned AND disinherited ... now, let us never speak of her again

I'm thinking of going to erase my final live memory of them which was Slane in 2009 which was about two weeks before the split and they were a band who didnt want to be there and Liam & Noel had a genuine frosty vibe near each other.

That being said as bad as they were it took Noel just a few seconds of starting Half The World Away to start a giant sing song and have the crowd in the palm of his hands.
