The government should make it mandatory for all bicycles to be fitted with a transponder, which can track their movements like a black box in the event they break the rules of the road, and need to be sent for reeducation

How is putting some form of visible identification on a bike turning Ireland into a police state? Take you time now.

My point is about facial recognition technology which you seem to have no issue with implementing on Irish streets. Most people would consider that way over the top.

Why would I have a problem with facial recognition? It will help catch criminals, help locate missing people, who would have a problem with that? Oh yeah people like you that are happy to break the law and want to go undetected. Law abiding citizens have nothing to fear from facial recognition technology.

Goes back to my point. Most people don't have an issue catching criminals, but they don't want to turn Ireland into a police state in order to do so. Id wager you are in a minority here.
