At real madrid he's looked twice the player he was, hes got a better link up, better skill, looks faster and to top it all................................he is 50 times the player dwight yorke ever will be, and dwight yorke was a 30 goal a year man for utd.

calm down there a sec naff. i'm still talking about Michael Owen in terms of him being bought with van nistelrooy going the other way. In that context i don't believe that owen would be an addition to the squad as i don't think he'd cover the loss of van nistelrooy. if it was smith or saha going the other way then i do think he would add to the team but not where van is concerned.

According to Richard Kurt in Arena, he thinks that Van Nistelrooy will probably go this time round. He pointed out how this time last year United had him out in front of a press conference reiterating his desire to stay. It's starting to sound more and more like he's going to leave.

Well if my memory was so short then I would'nt be able to remember back then would I? Of course he was going to miss Beckham's crossing ability because there isn't anyone in the world who can cross like him. But if Paul Scholes was to leave in the morning Ruud would probably say "I miss his 1st touch slide-rule pass to leave me one on one with the keeper".

Every team will miss a certain player's contribution but to say Ruud has'nt been the same since beckham left is as I said earlier bullshit.

as wonderful as these constant stats are naff,

the REASON beckham has 3 times as many crosses is because:
A) its all he can fucking do well on a pitch other than 60 yard passes.
B) he cant beat a man, solsjkaer did on many occasions
C) he had no ability to break in-field and take on a one-two passing movement or to try and score himself
D)it was his sole reason for being on the pitch.

solskjaer was alot more use and was far more inventive and dynamic on the right than Becks was in that period in my opinion and his performances out there at the time justified leaving a moaning beckham on the bench, cos his boss didnt like him being out till 2am/3am in the mornings cos of his retard wife and her functions.

Also, you'd hardly call it wide right a la Becks or Giggs in 4-4-2. It was wide on the 3 in a 4-2-3-1 formation, swapping sides with Giggs and cutting infield- not touchline hugging.
