Cork u20 Football 2024

1. We have no centre of excellence , Kerry do.
2. All our schools are geared to Multiple Sports disciplines, Kerry has 1.
3.We have a failed Coaching pathway with Managers out of their depth and selectors who essentially water carriers. Kerry headhunt ex All Ireland winners and people they deem best for the Job.

Well feel free to go down to the Barrs, Bishopstown, Nemo and Douglas and tell the mams that little Jack or Odhran or Liam has to go to Chriost Ri because that’s what Cork football wants. And do you now have to decide which 12 year old is going to play football or hurling so they go to the right hothouse.
It amazing that lads are still living in a time warp that they believe that parents pick a secondary school based on their GAA prowess rather than academia.

You are misrepresenting things to suit your own argument.. the schools model is very straight forward.. we all know the schools sure..
you’d have 3-4 football schools in the city, a few out west, a couple up north and one to the east
Hurling handy to pick the top 8-10 too..

Exaggerating to make a point but you’ll never have nurseries like the sem, colaiste na sceilge, the green or dingle cbs in Cork. There’s too many people and too much choice. The schools as nurseries concept works brilliantly in counties like Kerry and Kilkenny where you have one overwhelmingly strong sport that everyone wants to play, few if any private schools and no dominant major urban population centre.
You make no sense. When done right the St Fachtna’s Skibbereen and CCR backboned Cork footballers to 4 senior All Ireland finals in a row lad…
I’d stress again that Dublin manage fine without all of this.
financially doped to an outrageous degree. Your membership Tony has helped pay for a GDA in every club in Dublin!!

Ultimately you can focus your development on schools or development panels or whatever but whatever way you do it if you’re not ensuring bilateral co-ordination and basic skill sets they’ll struggle when they encounter people who do, regardless of whether they’re wearing green and gold or sky blue.
Spot on

That's why we churn out top athletes across multiple sports. You won't change Cork in to a one sport county like Kerry, Even the historical two rugby schools in Cork City are playing hurling now.

How can you go from playing brilliant football albeit a weak clare team one week to fearful football . Seems to be a fear amongst management teams v kerry
i agree 100% This is a decent Cork team i believe every bit as good as Kerry but they just seem to freeze ....there is a number of very good players in that Cork. setup ...i believed in this management but its up to them to get the players fired for Kerry ...look a number are underage again next year .....i hope all involved take the learnings from this defeat and bring it with them....remember defeat can be the fuel for future success please god a big number of these lads will have plenty bright football days ahead .

Yes and why not football..CBC was a rugby school now with hurling…Where is the football..Douglas Community school..a stones throw away from Douglas and Nemo..does it even have a football team?..Where is there anywhere to play or practice Gaelic football informally, spontaneous where skills might be learned..like small all weather pitches..there is no vision, no adaptation to a rising population in places like Douglas and Bishopstown…its abject failure and needs a major change in vision, strategy and tactics
