Cork Limerick Motorway

If you think that's funny, wait till you get a load of this:

Remember this the next time a labour party candidate comes looking for your vote in an election.

They should never be left near power ever again. Between Alan Kelly trying to abolish our citycouncil and Brendan Howlin building a motorway in his own constituency at the height of the economic crash not to mention Kathleen Lynch writing a letter to a Judge asking him to "go easy" on a convicted rapist and Joan Burton with her "if they can afford mobile phones they can afford to pay water charges," they really are the political wing of the Fintan O' Toole brigade.

Never again.

So Brendan Howlin is to blame for the Cork - Limerick motorway not being built ?

With Noonan gone out of Finance, things might change. Emphasis on "might".

Rumour has it that he does not like Cork.

Pascal Donoghue only cares about what is inside the M50 as does Leo.

Good luck with that one.

Coveney is in foreign affairs and spends all his time in airport terminals or pointless meeting in Brussels or Washington and does not have clue what is going on in Ireland never mind Cork.

If Coveney had the finance job or Taoseach then maybe.

Well the money does all come out of one pot. And it seems the leader of the Blueshirts and the leader of Labour both had their hick towns fast tracked to get motorways ahead of one linking the second and third (at that time) cities in the state.

I'm sure McGrath if he became Minister would do a much better job for Cork (and by extension Munster and indeed Ireland) than Simple Simon has done to date. He's been at the cabinet for 6 years and has come back with erm a sod turning

Michael McGrath sounds like he is about to burst out crying every time he is interviewed.

Simon has little control or say anyway as a Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Nope.

He just looks after his own bailiwick.

But I would suggest that a motorway linking the midwest and the entire Western Seaboard into the Deep water port at Ringaskiddy would be of far more national importance than an extension of a motorway around Enniscorthy which would really only enhance the competitive situation of Rosslare port......although, come to think of it, why would anyone want to grow a competitor to Rosslare?

But there you go.

Draw from it what you will.

Simey was a sitting minister for the last 6 years and has done the square root of f**k all for Cork. Howlin was in the minority govt party but he saw after the oiks down there. It's long overdue that Cork get some of the redistributed moneys - our county accounts for more than 10% of the population, is the second city, has a huge natural harbour etc etc. But our politicians are about as useful as a chocolate kettle
