Cork Hurlers - Part 2

The Kilkenny sending off was a joke. The kind of sending off you see down here in every club game. SOFT. Casey rightfully got a red.
Peter Casey's red was a spot on red but the 2nd incident by Eoin Cody merited another yellow. This flick with the hurley to the hand, stomach or private parts when the opponent is in posession should at least be yellow and 2 yellows equal a red. The Limerick player who received the flick showed he felt it. Being correct on those counts still doesn't make James Owens a good referee.

Never a second yellow, he’s just going to flick the ball away on the pick up. He missed it, and barely caught the limerick player. It’s a free but no more.

Casey with a proper dirty swipe. Their discipline is shocking, getting away with it for years now.

The Off The Ball Hurling Pod brought up the incompetence of James Owens and rightly so, he is consistently taking the piss with his decisions, almost like hes trying to find ways to create talking points for himself, he needs to be taken off all major games going forward
He’s brutal, don’t know how they’re still giving him games.

Tomas Walsh, Waterford is the best of them.

First of all missing it is the key along with of course connecting with the guy in possession. Did you see the reaction of the Limerick player that flick connected with, if it's not a yellow for Cody then the ref needs to deal with that Limerick player.

Agree regarding Casey and their discipline but the GAA throws the rule book away and instruct the refs to follow suit for certain individuals and their counties. We had this with Loughnane & Clare, Cody & KK and just now look at Shefflin & Galway.

Just my thoughts, a break from Cork top 3 talk...

I felt Owens did fine on Saturday, not perfect but who is.

I have no love for Lim or KK, they will bury the opposition every chance they get. They have a killer instinct that Cork need to find, a nasty streak.

Both Lim & KK have been tapping, striking and hitting opposition players with hurleys and hands for years all while trying to flick the ball away / slow down opposition.

Owens rightly started blowing for this on Sat.

Lim & KK strategically do this to stop the opposition getting into a flow IMO. Make no mistake, this is coached and why wouldnt they do it if it helps yo win games.

I felt Hegarty played well and that his incident was a fee to Limerick Not KK.

Cody on a yellow should have been careful but did a stupid flick across the legs on Hannon. Silly to do on a yellow.

Nash chop was nasty in the 2nd half, he angled the hurley to strike at the bottom, this can break bone, nasty. Id have red carded him for this but its so hard to see in real time.

WOD ( great player) looked bemused when Owen gave him a yellow for presistent striking with hurley. WOD does this every game And will take his yellows every game, not a bother to him.

Lim & KK are masters at this tactical fouling and in fairness to Owens he blow for fees. I have no issues with this.

It's more than tactictal, it is pure filth and there shouldn't be any place in the game for this crap. The real problem lies in championship when there won't be any cards branded for same as in the league and the GAA hierarchy won't bat an eye lid once the taxpayer and JP's money keeps rolling in, by the fall we'll be hearing what a great spectacle with a packed house was the AI final, sure to be sure!(n)
