That's a lot of intense matches for teams ahead of a long and demanding championship. As someone mentioned, managers will be be anxious about injuries and having players fresh for championship.
The pre season comps are a big loss for trying out new players. Obviously don't want to be throwing in 4/5 newcomers in the 1 game versus a limerick for example.
Kilkenny will definitely be experimenting with the retirements they have had, as will galway who need to find players badly

There won’t be huge experimentation in next years league, we have done that over the last 2 years and rightly so, but now it’s time to narrow the focus to your top 25 players and try bed down a settled side by the end of the league.

New players coming into the panel will hardly see much game time in the league but I’m hoping Diarmuid Healy will be the exception here.

We have issues at half foward when Seamus and Deccie get taken off and we need to rectify that. Ben Cunningham would be another relatively new fella (appearance wise) who will hopefully be looked at

The other side of the coin is we need to use Seamus and Hoggy very sparingly in the league to keep them fresh for championship.

The big change I am really hoping to see next year is a flying fit Robbie O Flynn in the corner. He’s the missing link in winning the all ireland my eyes

I’d agree with that particularly managing Seamus & Hoggy, they played way too much hurling last year and it showed by the end, they need to peak at the right times.

Ben is a guy I’d like to see get some minutes along with Power and Mullins.

Any ideas on who could be dropped from the panel Lehane/JOC maybe?

Jesus, I forgot about Padraig Power, I love this guys ability and attitude, he’s got the workrate and is a team player In the true sense of the word. Mad to think we now have 5 serious options for the inside line

You’re right on Mullins too, he’s a guy that needs a run of games as he is coming from junior hurling but again he’s a live option

Agree with you re Healy.

Re ROF - that's one read of it. Another is that you / we have said something similar for the last 3 or 4 winters and when it comes down to it, he doesn't deliver when it really matters (those times he has produced top quality championship performances for Cork it has tended to be group stage or against the likes of Dublin). I get there's often a fully fit question but he was fit enough to have taken those scores that he left behind in the AI final. By way of example, Seamie is the opposite - looks iffy in early stages of the campaign but will deliver his best on the biggest days.

Maybe that's harsh on ROF but he's not the only one in the group with a bit to prove in terms of showing the leadership to get us over the line. If we didn't have options I'd be more forgiving but we do and for me he is now just about in that 25 and has it all to do. I hope he does kick on as in full flow he is great to watch and such a dangerous player.
