Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Based on the assessment you believe of it being the 'hardest Munster Championship in years' I do not believe this was the reason for their awards. Secondly I stated in an earlier post I mentioned it before when I referred to the G.A.A. influence and the JP factor in the awards selection, simply JP looks after the G.A.A. and in turn the G.A.A. look after Limerick. You generally addressed this in a post which I understood you to be in disagreement of what I stated. Anyone thinking the journalists are not influenced by GAA hierarchy are in denial or extremely naieve.
Tks for reply ,was wondering it was the JP trope ok . Anyway for reference Jp has been sponsoring limerick in both codes now for a long time, also locally in club scene. If the gaa was looking after him surely they would have thrown us a few football all stars too . No doubt journos are influenced but they I hope have their own minds too.in my own opinion as I already said I thought quaid and hayes were nailed on to win and the other two were in contention, hegarthy was the big surprise I guess to most in limerick as many would have put aaron gillane ahead of him in performance this year.

The All-Stars have had no real creditability for a long, long time. I don't understand why people are still getting worked up over them. They mean nothing except newspaper space. What counts is the All-Ireland medal.
They mean something to the players. Anyone arguing differently is an idiot

I said they were not creditable. No one said anything about how the players feel about them, but I remember some Cork player making that exact point many years ago. He said, "I have no idea where my All-Stars awards are, but I know exactly where all my All-Ireland medals are."

The All-Stars are nice but unimportant. I can tell you exactly how many All-Irelands nearly every Cork player over the last 60 years has but have no idea how many All-Srars any of them have.

I don't know where my AI medals are but I know where my Sciath Na Scoil medals are ?

Given some of selections and season Pa Collins had the keeper nod would have went to him in my opinion.

Hayes was quiet compared to his usual previous 4 years of winning.

Neither in my opinion were nailed on.

Hegarty himself looked shocked tbf to him and as you said a lot would have put Gillane ahead but also Hayes.

Depending on your name they would have have only looked at a semi final or final by the selection.
