Brian hayes got 1-7 off morrissey in 2 games plus a good goal chalked off, corks best forward in final and absolutely deserving of an all star, hegarty as a corner forward a joke and leen should have been corner back

Brian Hayes should have won an all star. On the flip side both both Downeys on the lucky side - Conlon and Cleary could easily have won them.

Btw - Dan Morrissey was full back and marked Alan Connolly in both limerick games.

My thoughts as well..great goal in the final clinched it for our man but Conlon is a mighty no 6.Leen unlucky too.

I thought we'd get 6, Clare 8 and Limerick 1.

I felt Quaid was nailed on for the all-star, other then that I thought Cathal O Neill in midfield would be their next closest contender.
I don't think Morrisey, Kyle Hayes or Gearoid Hegarty deserved all-stars. Indeed if you look back at the coverage of the semi final, Michael Duignan starts suggesting 10 minutes into the 2cd half that Hegarty should be substituted.

Great moment when Marty asked Harnedy what kind of a student was Downey? Well he was a great hurler,

Harnedy had the look of a man walking up for his award that couldn’t believe he got it. There was a massive smile on his face. Refreshing to see. I think it was tight between himself, Duggan and a token All Star for Kilkenny Donnelly but the right man won it and well deserved

Harnedy definetely deserved his award ,reminds me of our own tom morrissey in limerick, good to win ball and averages a fair few points most days out ,good workers on the field and they come across in interviews as sound lads who love hurling.

From a Cork perspective I think Brian Hayes did more than enough to get an award.
I think Clare should probably be more disappointed than any that they only got six whereas Limerick got four.
Kilkenny won a provincial title and also lost in the semi final but got no all star.

I thought that Patrick Horgan may have been given an award. He would not have deserved it but these awards are as much about what you have done in previous years as what you have done in the year just finished, nothing else would explain four awards to Limerick and even at that I thought they still gave it to the wrong Limerick players. Cathal O Neill, the only young hurler nominee not to get an all star.

Ultimately it is a night for the players to dress up , relax and have a night out. The award can act as a door stop .
