Cork Hurlers - Part 2

From a Cork perspective I think Brian Hayes did more than enough to get an award.
I think Clare should probably be more disappointed than any that they only got six whereas Limerick got four.
Kilkenny won a provincial title and also lost in the semi final but got no all star.

I thought that Patrick Horgan may have been given an award. He would not have deserved it but these awards are as much about what you have done in previous years as what you have done in the year just finished, nothing else would explain four awards to Limerick and even at that I thought they still gave it to the wrong Limerick players. Cathal O Neill, the only young hurler nominee not to get an all star.

Ultimately it is a night for the players to dress up , relax and have a night out. The award can act as a door stop .

I thought we'd get 6, Clare 8 and Limerick 1.

I felt Quaid was nailed on for the all-star, other then that I thought Cathal O Neill in midfield would be their next closest contender.
I don't think Morrisey, Kyle Hayes or Gearoid Hegarty deserved all-stars. Indeed if you look back at the coverage of the semi final, Michael Duignan starts suggesting 10 minutes into the 2cd half that Hegarty should be substituted.
When JP is looking after the GAA then the GAA will look after Limerick, it doesn't matter a damn that journalists are involved in the selection.

Limerick weren’t at their normal standard this year and Kiely will be using it as a huge motivator for next year.

I reckon Kiely/JP would have been a lot happier with no all stars tbh.

You’d swear JP was Vladimir Putin they way some fellas go on about him ffs.
