Scenario me this- it’s 5:45 on Sunday, dying embers of the Munster hurling championship, last minute of injury time, cork 1 point down, hegarty low on confidence but high on testosterone bowls millerick over , free 80 yards out - who would you trust to take that free - Hoggy or dalton? Considering a win like this could be the catalyst to launch a golden era of cork hurling? Really - who would your money be on?

Has history of nailing high stakes frees at the death, thinking that free in the semi final v limerick to tie the game in 2018, limerick must have hit 7 or 8 points in a row and had a bow wave of momentum behind them -what a free over in the sideline to level it. For me, high stakes, would be Hoggy

There is something I’ve noticed in a few posts from different posters over the last few days, and the Deccie Hoggie free taking debate is a perfect example of it, there’s a nuanced mistrust towards the new fellas, there’s a time everyone steps up and maybe just maybe we should be giving them their head

For me it depends how the game has gone. If Hoggies after putting a few wide then it would have to be Dalton, but if Hoggies confidence is high after scoring a few tough frees then I’d let him take it.
