Cork city has gone to the dogs.

I locked my keys into my car years ago outside the court in Ballincollig.

While I was flapping around trying to figure out what to do, a young scobe approached me and said "ammm, I could probably pop that lock for you if you want"

It was frightening how quickly he was able to get into the car! It's kinda hard to know the etiquette of thanking someone for breaking into your car tbh. I didn't wait to see what he was up in court for, but I have a fair idea ;-)
Is there a court in Ballincollig?

Metal box folks, yes they have little repeaters that wake the keys up, they then transmit a signal, their repeater picks that up and voila car is open.

So the advise, that I was given by someone in the know, is to keep the car keys in a metal box, that way the RF signal will not reach the key.
Our car battery died a few weeks back. Guy called out and asked where we leave the keys. Said, just inside the door. He said there’s a good chance the car is never actually locked despite us locking it as the car constantly looks for the keys to open which also draws the battery. He said keep the keys a few walls back in the kitchen or the pouch.

Another thing there is guys fishing car keys through door letter boxes.
