An uninjured reporter walked into four different doctor surgeries complaining of "neck pain and stiffness after a rear ending accident". Without over exaggerating the symptoms and after examinations lasting on average 2 minutes she walked with a whiplash diagnosis and a sick certificate,

Excellent. Just in time for Christmas. Who would have the deepest pockets and fastest turnaround in Cork? Taxi? Bus? Train?

What is a doctor supposed to do when a patient possibly lies to them?

I don't believe that there is an objective test for whiplash, you can't xray for it or do a blood test, so doctors generally have to go on what the patient tells them and how the patient reacts to examination.

I have a distant relative who has had more fucking claims than the prize bonds. He's an embarrassment, he actually met his wife through his cowboy of a solicitor. She was working reception and he was in so often over his claims that they struck up a relationship.
He claimed off his own mother's car insurance once and made almost 50k out of that one.
Another claim in a bookies after he burned his hand on a complimentary cup of tea.
Couple of cracked pavements have taken him out too.
Hes a treacherous bollox, and his own brother won't even let him into his house for fear he might try something.
Fellas like that should be blacklisted!

Definitely not possible to make such a diagnosis in two minutes
