Christmas in Cork

Thought I’d begin a thread on Christmas in Cork. What are some of your Cork Christmas traditions? Visiting Santa in Blarney, getting the Hollybough, picking up the Turkey in English Market to going on the Ferris Wheel on Grand Parade. There is so much to see and do and so many new memories created each year.

Where is your Santa visit taking place this year?
Have you started the shopping?
Has anyone heard when the lights in town are being turned on?

Bought the Hollybough already.

Spiced Beef is a must!

Missus LOVES Christmas but it's not quite the same since Santy (northside) doesn't visit my house any more.

She still does a special breakfast for them all

Two things I hate about Christmas though is brussel-sprouts and almond icing. Other than those two things which I avoid, I love it :)

My uncle took his young fella to santy in cashes years ago, Santy knew my uncle, when they were leaving the grotto
santy shouts to my uncle...see you in the brown derby later on, The poor young fella was all confused,
The old fella before he died brought the grandchildren,
Says Santa ah ( name) I haven't seen you for years how are you.
The old fella couldn't figure it out so when Santa was finished with the kids he asked who he was.
He replied

Santa Claus
