Being Fired.. And how to deal with it.

HR's job is to look out for the organisation and do what's best for it. What's best for the employee is not their priority. Anybody who thinks otherwise is very naive.
that's the whole point. I've never been in the position of Siggy and Frispy but there have been periods of my career where i really could have used some impartial expert advice.

Internal HR's job is primarily to protect the company.

Solicitor's theoretically could and do provide this sort of service but by the nature of their profession engaging one seems expensive and rather drastic.

Unions are supposed to dosimilar for their members but too often wont do much at individual level

This seems like a smart move to me for HR experts and empoyees alike
