Imagine you're a doctor, having taken the Hippocratic oath.
You go into abortions...
You go into abortions...
Sure thing, mick.
What you posted is true. But in the last half century since Roe v Wade was passed, while the Republicans have pretended that they wanted to repeal it, they too have had similar majorities on several occasions. They have also, on even more occasions, had the power to shut down or threaten to shut down the government over this issue had they wished, as they have done on other occasions over tax cuts and such. The thing is, they have been claiming that abortion is their top issue for decades, but they have never acted like it in fact.
The reason is that a large majority of people favor at least some abortion rights. But more importantly to the Party, the non-resolution of the abortion issue has allowed them to lock in a lot of “single issue” voters who would not otherwise vote for their rotten policies.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, given that the GOP was never really serious before about repealing Roe v Wade, there was a host of other things they could have done to decrease abortion. These are the social reforms that people mention when they claim that Republicans are “pro-birth” rather than “pro-life”. They did none of these things.
It’s much easier to call people baby killers in order to take the moral high ground rather than mobilizing all the MANY things that would have to be done (and would still have to be done) to actually reduce the American abortion rate. And while the outright banning of abortion will probably reduce abortions for the poor who can’t hop in their cars and go to a Blue state or our neighboring countries, it’s not going to really prevent a lot of abortions. And the Republicans know this.
Finally, for now, one needs to bring up the fact that abortion the banning of abortion is only the beginning of a list of retrogressive actions that many if not most Red states are planning. They are already looking to attempting to ban contraceptives and to roll back gay rights. (Naturally they are not looking to ban divorce, which is the one thing in all of this mess that Christ actually, firmly, and unambiguously addressed). There is an entire retrogressive social program going on here, as the Right is sailing with a fascist nationalist wind under the guise of what they claim is Christianity.
Imagine being a doctor and refusing to abort a baby even though it will kill the woman if you don't.Imagine you're a doctor, having taken the Hippocratic oath.

Oh wait, that actually happened. Another nonsensical argument by you
Yes.
Can doctors object on the basis of conscience/religious beliefs?
Yeah, not like doctors have to deal with death or anything.Imagine you're a doctor, having taken the Hippocratic oath.

Imagine a doctor treating a patient with advanced cancer. The patient is enrolled in a trial for novel chemotherapy. She goes into remission. Then she becomes pregnant which is an exclusion criterion for the clinical trial. So she has to stop taking the chemotherapy. Her cancer gets progressively worse. She gives birth to the baby but by now the cancer is so advanced that she is terminal and unfortunately passes away.Imagine being a doctor and refusing to abort a baby even though it will kill the woman if you don't.
