2024 Premier Senior Hurling Championship

Apparently Fr O'Neills had two 21 yard frees in the last 10 minutes yesterday when the game was still there to be won and opted to tap both over the bar with a view to improving their score difference and thereby avoiding Imokilly in a quarter final.

Obviously it backfired. And apart from anything else, it seems quite bizarre that with a striker of Dalton's ability that they didn't try to go and win the game.

As a result we now have the little parish up against the east Cork league of nations. Quite farcical situation really when you consider that a few short years ago O'Neills were providing some of yesterday's players to Imokilly when they won 3 in a row counties.
I reckon they will be on the recieving end of a significant defeat. Oh the irony.
Imagine a club busting their bollox to get up senior, progress to the business end of the competition and get knocked out by the pick of 12 or 14 clubs.

And in case they be any doubt, I don't agree with divisions in their current format being allowed compete in our county championship.
Others will disagree with me as is their wont .

Cheers. Not the most enticing curtain raiser though. Blarney by a distance. There'll be some spice in the O'Neills game alright but Imokilly will have too much strength all round.
You’d have to feel for little Fr O Neills up against the superclub Imokilly, they are the anathema of everything the GAA is all about

Spot on

To paraphrase the great ex hurler Kevin Keegan “I’d love it if O Neills beat them, love it” 🤣

The two 21 yards frees is a load of nonsense anyway. Everyone in O Neills knew if they didn't win they'd be playing imokilly

Era a few of those Fr O Neills lads benefitted enough from the same system so they’re in no position to complain even though I doubt they would anyway. At least 3 Imokilly clubs are playing quarter finals or relegation playoffs and possibly more junior clubs so fatigue could play a part for them. Regardless I still think they have a good chance. Theyll die with their boots on whereas the Imokilly lads won’t.

Fr O Neills won't give a shit playing Imokilly
Zero pressure. Every fella marking a fella they'd know or want a cut off. If they are well beaten then everyone will say they should have been. I genuinely think it's a grand draw for them in terms of no expectation.. nothing to lose everything to gain
