Apparently Fr O'Neills had two 21 yard frees in the last 10 minutes yesterday when the game was still there to be won and opted to tap both over the bar with a view to improving their score difference and thereby avoiding Imokilly in a quarter final.
.
That makes no sense, they were 20 odd points behind Newtown

You’d have to feel for little Fr O Neills up against the superclub Imokilly, they are the anathema of everything the GAA is all about
I know you are not a fan of Imokilly but seriously, I would argue Imokilly encapsulates what the GAA is all about, anything that is geographically based will always throw up mismatches and ultimately be unfair, be it large counties v small counties or super clubs v small rural clubs.

The parochialism and amateur ethos of the GAA is great but it is possibly one of the most unfair of all sporting organisations because by a geographical accident of birth you can either win the top prize or have no chance.

Given guys who would traditionally have no chance a shot at it through the divisional system is actually quite laudable in my opinion. If the clubs are good enough they'll win it, like they have done 90 odd per cent of the time.

A whistle happy referee would be the only thing that could kill the game for them. They had that last year in fermoy when the played the Barrs, think the Barrs scored about 16 or 17 from frees that day.
Cathal McAlister suited Kanturk yesterday, Charleville had to wait until 2nd half before they got their first free of the game.

Saw headline on examiner online talking about the weekend games, ,Cunningham future, it is behind a paywall, could Ger be moving on?

Alan Walsh looks like he could have an impact on the Cork panel next year, tall athletic and has a eye for goal. Like to see him get a good run in the league
