2024 Premier Senior Football Championship

1. Nemo 2. Newcestown 3. Ballincollig 4. Eire og
Nemo way ahead of the pack here and will finish comfortably at the top. Contrarily eire og have struggled only picking up wins against relegated carrigaline in recent yrs. Toss up between newcestown and ballincollig

1 Haven 2 Ross 3. St Michael's 4. Clon
Haven r the best team in this group but tend to get better as the yr goes on. Still think they'll win this. Bit of a coin toss between the other 3. Clon will miss LOD imo

1. Barrs 2. Valleys 3. Douglas 4. Mallow
Barrs will win every game easily enough and drive on to a semi final place. Vleys to have a bounce back season and beat Douglas and Mallow who are both up to nothing.

Champs Barrs
Relegation Eire Og

Hard to look beyond the top 2 seeds in each group, bar Group C, where the 2nd spot is really up for grabs.
Barrs & Nemo under new management and who knows, Haven maybe too depending on how January goes for them. What a boost for Cork football it would be for them to get to Croke Park. Could be a year for likes of Ballincollig to break through and reach a final. They gave Haven a good game of it after a slow start in the q final this year.
Group A: Ballincollig to top group and Nemo.
Group B: Castlehaven & Clonakilty.
Group C: Barrs & reluctant vote for Douglas.

Paul Holland in with Douglas, he will earn his crust there based on their abject performance v Duhallow in the quarter final. They are a club who should be performing at a higher level performance wise than that with all their underage success.

I see ballincollig coming through group 1 and clon through group 2. Group 3 looks very weak and anyone could qualify along with the barrs

Group 1: Nemo & Ballincollig Group 2: Castlehaven & Clonakilty Group 3: St Finbarrs & Valley Rovera Winners: St Finbarrs Relegation: St Michaels

There’s some signs of a bit of a levelling out among most teams in this grade but in general it’s arguably the worst of the football championships in Cork in terms of competitiveness with only Nemo, Haven and Barrs threatening to win it out. Clon made a bold attempt at it but got a handier route on that occasion.

Some groups, as will be the case with 12 teams, have been repetitive. Maybe should be some ruling where you can’t draw the same teams again or something but would be hard to make that work. Overall it needs some spicing up.

I feel like the big three are simply too strong for this grade. The only team who could shock any of them is clonakilty in my view, possibly also ballincollig. The other teams would all have to resort to negative tactics to get near them.
