A big loss to the haven they will prob take a break early in the year and gear up for a shot at back to back titles . An amazing club for one of the smallest parishes in the countyCastlehaven boss James McCarthy steps down

If football clubs put in what they were doing we would have no problem with football in this county . Themselves and carbery rangers and clon to a lesser degree have been standard bearers for football in the countyFrom Goleen to Ballinspittle isn’t too small a parish.
What sort of twaddle is that? Ross and Clon don’t even rank in this conversation. If football clubs put in what they were doing we would have no problem with football in this county . Themselves and carbery rangers and clon to a lesser degree have been standard bearers for football in the county
I’d rate haven up there anywhere in standards when compared to Barrs or nemo .id guess they would have prob 15 per cent population of either Barrs or nemo and are only ones who can take on the city duo . To be fair clon usually come with a crop every decade as well and can be very dangerous when they do . We need more out of big towns like macroom millstreet and skibb who have gone back in recent timesWhat sort of twaddle is that? Ross and Clon don’t even rank in this conversation.
Nemo and Barr’s are head and shoulders the “standard bearers” in terms of Cork football clubs with multiple provincial and All Ireland victories. Haven would be next in line and deserve serious credit as a club based in a rural area who as recently as the early 70s were Junior B.
However, it’s a fact that some of the transferring in of players by the Haven is dubious ethically. And they aren’t exactly shy about approaching players from Junior clubs around them either.
What the Cahalanes, Maguire, Collins do in commuting down to play is massive commitment and they are the driving force on the field currently along with the Hurley’s, so you still have to admire them.
