2024 Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship

I've a young niece and nephews that play underage for the Hill. Went up there last night for their homecoming. The excitement was off the charts. A wonderful occasion for all involved. I've a lot of friends up there and am absolutely thrilled for them, I know a lot of senior clubs were cheering for them yesterday in order to weaken Imokilly but a lot of the smaller clubs had a lot of sympathy for them over the the whole Shane O Regan to Sars transfer circus so certainly wouldn't begrudge the Hill their county. The passion and emotion on display at full time is everything that's great about the GAA.

I thought the game itself was good. And in fairness to Simon Stokes he contributed to the game as a spectacle. I thought the Hill half-back line were very strong. Michael O Driscoll really stood out for me and was probably my man of the match. Daire O Leary was very solid at center back and I would expect him to get a few games with Cork in the league come February. Up front I felt Sean Desmond ,while always looking dangerous and cracking home a fine goal, didn't have his best of days. Adam Murphy had a good game but I thought Brendan Lehane the other corner forward looked very dangerous.

Fair play to Carrigaline as well. They went down fighting, I thought David Griffin, Eanna Desmond and David Drake were excellent for them.

A group of Bride Rovers, Castlelyons, Fermoy and Watergrasshill would be some craic next year.

Now that's the end of me as a Hill supporter for the time being at least.
