Ballincollig playing Division 1 hurling next year will gain lots of experience however could suffer alot too. A young team against physically seasoned teams. Few derbies thrown in too within Group 2, where anything can happen on the day. Would fancy Castlemartyr to come out of Group 1, Group 2 wide open, Group 3 Ballinhassig on paper decent but did not get out of their group in 2023 & Kilworth were the surprise team of 2023. This grade always throw up a surprise outfit. Inniscarra being the 2022 surprise.

I'd agree with you there. Playing at a higher level in the league doesn't always work out well. It's hard to introduce the younger players when you know every game is a difficult one that could potentially dent their development rather than help them.
I'd read little into the league, the likes of carrigaline have done well in league but miles off in championship. Teams doing middling in league are ones to watch, probably introducing players and probably aiming for the bigger picture down the line

Ballinhassig and Ballincollig two standouts IMO, very competitive grade though anything can happen, few big upsets down through the years and I’m sure we will see a fair share again this year, the grade that keeps on giving.

Claude Gough from Charleville is training Mallow. If they got a few of their lads back from abroad, they might be dark horses in this competition, after coming down from Senior A last year.
