2022 Premier Intermediate football

Cill na Martra had their chances but just couldn’t to beat Kanturk. So if they stick at it could finally get it done next year. But couple of their players getting on a bit.
Uibh Laoire could be a big shout too with a clean bill of health with Kilshannig not far behind in my rankings.
Next year whoever wins will prob have to face Austin Stacks in Munster!!

Yeah, say it every year, the provincial club championships are just bonus territory and too much should never be read into them. Nice if you win them for sure, but not the end of the world at the same time really, unless you’ve moved far beyond the rest of the county (the likes of Ballygunner for example).

Kanturk are more than capable of beating tons of teams at this grade, even if they’re only the 25th ranked team in the county based on gradings and from the third tier, hammered the Clare qualifiers last week, imagine what Kanturk would do if they were in the junior completion instead, or what St. Michael’s would be capable of in the intermediate against smaller counties, no point to it and would benefit very little.

Kerry are the anomaly in the grand scheme of things here, and that’s fine because these championships are from perfect anyway and the level of competition across countries varies massively.
