Loads of space? Are we looking at the same picture? It's in a built-up area with high-rise buildings on two sides.Loads of space there. The problem with the Dunkettle Interchange is the constricted space at the tunnel entrance on the northern side of the tunnel

Thanks for all the updates Meri.From 10am on tomorrow morning the slip road to Little Island, that is to the left for traffic heading South through the tunnel, which is by the tunnel management building will be closed.
For the idiots who like to moan, this is so that the contractors can work on the new slip for the N25 E traffic that wants to Access the tunnel to the N40 S.
The diversion is a pain the hole though, they are suggesting going East on the N25 and up and across that new West Little Island bridge to access The Island.Thanks for all the updates Meri.
Wrong. The traffic is definitely caused by lane hoppers. Rubberneckers seem to be the worst. Had an idiot in front of me (and many fellow drivers) physically slow down the other night to a crawl when taking the new link eastbound to Midleton. They came to a near standstill simply to have a nose around. Crazy stuff at rush hour. Finger pointing galore going on in the car while the cars are piling up behind after just negotiating a 50min delay on the n40. Infuriating stuff from some idiot drivers out there.Same.
