Cork Hurlers - Part 2

You get what you deserve, lehane and Harnedy never showed up. If you had said before the game that they wouldn’t score from open play then a Cork loss would be the general consensus.
Poor shooting is one thing but decision making at times is baffling. TOM wide 1st half typified this.
Positives are tough to see but CJ was immense. Lad is a thoroughbred.

End of the road for this management and good luck to them. Did their best and even if we don’t agree with a lot of their calls they all want the best for Cork hurling.
Padraig Power needs some game time next year and we have some unreal players coming through.

Does Declan Dalton have the plague or something to be so out of favour?

Coleman passing the ball 10 yards to a marked Robbie flynn.........as an aside the umpire in the second half waved a cork 65 appeal wide but didn't tell the ref that the Galway defender threw it at shane Kingstons leg..

Cork teams are hitting too many wides for far too long and no management have corrected the problem. Regarding the free taking the management and some on here can't see the difference an inter-county free taker brings and yet the management have a statistician at their disposal. They showed no faith in Conor Lehane in the past and when they bring him back and he's showing form from play the management give him the free taking duties and drop Hoggy, ridiculous. Shane Kingston and Conor Lehane are not inter-county standard free takers despite being good hurlers. Alan Cadogan displays accuracy from play but the management showed no faith in him all year until they were facing the exit door.

All the professionalism and S&C etc. are never as important as the skills of the game.

Its going to be a long winter but roll in the new management and hopefully the county board will make good decisions in selecting the right guys.

There is a photo on Inpho sports for the whelan goal and the angle is unbelievable, he is a yard from the end line and Collins positioning and how he has set himself is all over the place, I know they brought in a kerry fella as goalkeeping coach but I have to wonder at how wheelbase scored the second goal, really poor, been a tough season for him

Incredibly frustrating. It's hard not to be angry, not at individuals as such but the entire thing. This is going to sound very disrespectful to a very committed group with some classy players who led all the way and deserved their win but I can't ever recall seeing a Cork hurling team go out of the championship to a poorer team than that Galway side today. To which they could well retort, what does that say about Cork and they'd be right.

Thanks to players and backroom for big effort and personal sacrifices, but it's 17 years now and we're still also-rans and as far away as ever. People talk about great under 20 teams, but Tipp won the two before us and they're miles away too. Nobody will give you a senior all ireland and it's hard to see us going and taking one. Maybe we could grab one against the head like Clare did in 2013, or Tipp in 2019. I dunno. Deeply depressing.
