blu-ray problem

have a phillips blu-ray player a while now but the last 3 discs i've bought won;t play on it


when i put them in a box pops up on screen saying something like put a usb key in with 1mb of free space which I've done and then something about bd-j or something


any ideas? is there some new form of blu-rays out the don't play on older machines?

According to wikipedia BD-J should work if your machine is less than 10 years old.

Some players may need you to download a firmware update, I believe. Could be worth a punt although I've never needed to update my player yet.

dunno what i did but the newer blu-rays are going grand now, huzzah!
