Have a mouth ulcer at the moment. My son has hives on his face. I’ve often wondered what the difference between an ulcer and a hive is.

I think a hive is an allergic reaction whereas ulcers are caused by low vitmain b or immune system.

I hear ya. I got a cheap one and it was useless. Might go more upmarket.

Soda crystals left in a plug hole overnight and flushed through with boiling water the next morning is a good way to keep the blockages away.
Also it’s a safer alternative to caustic soda.

You mean bicarbonate of soda? The plumbing here is ancient. We usually use caustic soda and I'm surprised there's any pipes left (oh matron etc).

Kinda , washing soda is sodium carbonate
Just a hydrated form really
Be careful with caustic soda on old pipes
Can eat through them
